Reset | Book Review
I recently chose to read the book "Reset: Jesus Changes Everything" by Nick Hall. It's front cover (and even the back cover, after reading it) caught my attention and had me interested in reading it. Unfortunately, for me, this book was not what I had expected, and it's made it hard to give my review as I typically do. I came into this book expecting almost more of a challenging devotional style book...encouraging you that no matter where you are, where you've been, or where you think you're going, you can "reset" your life with Christ. But, for me, this was more of a choppy auto-biography of Nick Hall. I had a hard time reading it in the style that it was written in. The "encouragement" to let Christ be your change...your "reset" in your life is within the pages of the book, but it is mixed within stories of how he became the leader of the Together movement (which I had never heard of until now).
I'm not going to say this was an awful book...but for me, it was just not an easy read. I had to make myself read it just to do the review. It just didn't flow/click like others have for me. But, perhaps it would to others. I suppose if I had a better grasp as to the type of writing it was, and that it was mostly a book compiled of many encounters/stories, perhaps my expectations would have been different. I don't know. I'm giving this book 3 of 5 stars, as I feel it has potential for some, but just didn't do it for me.
