ABOUT
{Meet Marsha}
In case you don't know me already, here's a little peak into who I am to get you started. I am blessed beyond belief...married for 11 years
(and counting) to the love of my life...and a stay-at-home mom to our 3
precious gifts from God! I'm the definition of imperfection, relying on
the grace of God to make it step by step, day by day. I love
photography, flip-flops, picnics, laughter, a good book, and most
importantly, my family, my friends, and my God!
I am a
lover of all things creative, beautiful, and organized! I ran my own photography business for years, but closed it two years ago to spend more time with my sweet kids and husband. Though I don't have my official business anymore, I still love to capture all of life's emotions...good and bad, pretty and not-so-pretty, happy and sad...with my camera. You'll find that I use two cameras...my much loved Canon 7D with my favorite 50mm 1.4f lens and my old trusty iphone camera. Yes, I'm a photographer, and I admit that I use my cell phone for pictures {eek!} I've learned that there is a time and a place for each...my Canon gives me the best control over my end result, but sometimes it isn't handy or lightweight enough to carry/have on the spurt-of-the-moment. So, you'll see lots of both here!! As was my slogan for my business, so is true for my personal love for photography -- "LIFE. Captured."
{Meet Our Kiddos}
Katie is our beautifully-spirited 9-year-old daughter.
She is a perfect mixture of personality, enjoying her sparkles, being outside, animals, &
flip-flops. She loves God, laughter, gymnastics, art {especially colored pencil, acrylics, & photography}, reading, friends, and all things "American Girl". She's our independent, sweet-loving, no-longer-so-little girl!
Austin is our
7-year-old country boy...in every sense of the word! He goes to the
beat of his own drum…never in a rush…always looking for his next great
idea! He is sweet and tender-hearted, but always with a mischievous
streak. He’s also all muscle from gymnastics, and never too shy to show
off his newest talent. He’s our boots, dirt, bug, and lego lovin’ boy!
Addison is our {almost} 2-year-old independent drama queen. She's our third child, but shows the "only child" syndrome at times. She loves to eat, take care of her "babies", and thinks she's the boss & is big enough to do everything her brother and
sister do. She's my sweet, but spunky icy blue-eyed princess!
{Why "Desires of my Heart"?}
My
blog, Desires of my Heart, was started many years ago when God blessed
our family with our first little bundle of joy in effort to help keep
our distant family and friends "up-to-date" with our family adventures
as little Katie grew. God had given me over and over again the "desires
of my heart" (Psalm 37:4), when He gave me the love of my life, then
again with our first child. Almost 12 years later {and counting}, He is
still continuing to bless me beyond belief, so what better title could
be found, than this reminder of God's goodness to me!
