Thoughts from a 2 year old...

So, we're getting ready for our second night of our "Enriching the Family" conference at church tonight...and had some humorous thoughts come from our 2 year old's mouth.  I had to share them...

Daddy, what you doooin?
I'm ironing my clothes for this week.
Ironin close (clothes) dis week?
That's right.

**And then Austin breaks into a song he made up just for Daddy**
Iron close iron close,
everywhere ironin close...
Iron close iron close,
everywhere ironin close
...somepin (something)

Mommy, what you doooin?
 Putting on a slip.
Mommy put on swip (slip), so you don't fall down?
 {Laughs} Yeah..."somepin" like that...

Don't you just love their little inquisitive minds??  I do...especially at times like this.  Priceless memories...to laugh and smile about for a lifetime!

Love & Laundry

I finally got to listen to my new Point of Grace CD {a wonderful Christmas gift from my inlaws} today...and I heard "Love & Laundry" and had to share with all of you moms out there.  The had to have written this for me {and every other crazy-busy, hard-working mommy out there!}.

ENJOY!!

Winter Wonderland

The kids WE ALL had a great time with
our "snow days" the past two days.
We thought getting 2-3 inches of snow as great at Christmas...
now 8-10 inches...in Alabama?!?
Needless to say...
we have all loved our Winter Wonderland :-)

Katie ran outside and immediately "fell" into the snow...

Austin decided that since the soft snow didn't want to make a good snowman,
he'd turn himself into one...

My little snow babies :-)

And, just for future reference...
Our "redneck sled" (AKA laundry basket & ratchet straps) used in THIS snow

really doesn't work so great

in more than 2-3 inches of snow...

and definitely not in 8-10 inches!
Maybe we should look for a real sled for next winter...
ya think?? ;-)

Snow Cream

Since hearing of our "treacherous" winter weather {per the local weather stations}, the kids have been begging for snow cream!  So, we left a large plastic bowl on our table on the back porch to catch us some "clean" snow...perfect for making snow cream.

What we didn't know was how difficult it was going to be
to find the large bowl of snow by morning...
it was nicely hidden under 8 1/2 inches of snow...we measured the table!

We also didn't realize that our son preferred snowcream minus cream...

No...I would never suggest eating snow off of the ground...
but I couldn't help but take a picture of my little snow eater
when I caught him in the act!!
