Plan B - A Review

I was given the book Plan B, written by Pete Wilson, to review through Booksneeze.  The cover of the book states "What do you do when God doesn't show up the way you thought He would?", and I think we have all had a question similar to that at least occasionally in life. 

As I read this book, I felt as if I were in the room talking one on one with Pastor Wilson.  Though some may not like to read in this tense, I thought it made it more personal and thought-provoking.  Wilson was upfront to say that he does not hold all of the answers, but he did a fantastic job of guiding the reader to Christ, through the word of God.  The basis of the book is simply that our Plan B's (the plans that we would prefer not to have to try, because our Plan A sounds much better/easier, etc.) are often God's Plan A for us all along.  Wilson used many great examples from the Bible to make the points in his book, and for me, though I knew the stories, it helped to read them with the perspective of trusting God's plan, even when we think things should be going differently.  We may have to get out of our comfort zone, let go of our perceived "control", and rely totally and completely on God to guide us through our situation, but His plan is worth that! 

I have been challenged with many points in this book, and I already have a list of friends and family that I think would also enjoy this book.  I think this book is a great Christian spiritual growth book, even when you aren't in the midst of confusion/frustration about situations in life, but it is definitely a wonderful book to read when you are experiencing life change (whether planned or unexpected, good or bad).  I appreciate Wilson's openness and honesty throughout the book, and I think he has written something in there that anyone could relate to in one way or another.
