Anne of Green Gables My Daughter & Me | Book Review



One of my favorite set of books of all time is the Anne of Green Gables set, after being introduced to it in college from some of my dear dormmates. So, naturally, after running across this part memoir, part fan book written by Lorilee Crakers, I was intrigued. 

Though I am certain this book would hit home to anyone who has known adoption within their life, it is enjoyable and thought-provoking for those (like me) who aren't adopted. 

Craker's writing style pulls you in with vivid description much the same as Lucy Maud Montgomery did in Anne of Green Gables.  After reading only the first few chapters, laughing and reminiscing of Anne with Craker made me want to immediately reread the original books. 

Craker parallels her story and that of her adopted daughter to the character of Anne and the stories within Anne's life. If you are a fan of Montgomery's work, and especially if you are familiar with adoption, this may be the perfect book for you. 

{and now to go reread my Anne of Green Gables books...} :-P
