The Factor Tree ~ A Review

As a BzzAgent, I was recently given the opportunity to use The Factor Tree for a one-month free trial.  As a homeschooling mom of a preschooler, I was excited about giving Katie a "different" approach to math...instead of her typical worksheets.  And, since she is already a computer-loving child, I thought The Factor Tree's program would be great for her!

Upon enrolling Katie in The Factor Tree for our trial period, I found that it was not what I was expecting.  There was nothing fun or engaging in the online layout of this program.  I expected the younger age programs would be a little more interactive or fun to keep the child interested, but it was laid out as a worksheet test.  The most "engaging" part was having pictures to count on some questions.  The test was long and repetitive, which for older kids may be a great thing, but for Katie quickly became a tedious task she did not want to complete.

If you're looking for an easy way to do online testing for math skills, this is probably the place for you.  If you, are like me looking for a fun, interactive way to reemphasize math skills, you may want to keep looking.

I was given this month subscription to The Factor Tree free of charge as a BzzAgent.  The above comments are my own views.
